Dear Triboro Members:
The Board of Directors is hoping everyone is enjoying their summer activities and the nice, hot weather.
But rest assured, that there are some nice COLD rinks in your future! And coming up FAST!
News Items:
The Board of Directors welcomes these newly elected members:
· Mark Fantasia – the new Ice Coordinator (or “Ice God”)
· Ken LaBarre – the new Basic Instruction Director
And many thanks to outgoing Directors Jon Hartmann, Marc Beran, Steve Lloyd and Bill Markey.
We have seen an uptick in membership numbers for the upcoming season. Thus, this year Triboro will have 4 Mite teams, 3 Squirt teams, 2 Pee Wee teams and 3 Bantam teams. This is an increase of 3 teams from last year. In addition, we have made a concerted effort to limit the number of players on each team. Therefore, many players should benefit with an increase in ice time, both during games and practice sessions.
Teams will be playing in two leagues, the AYHL at Northstar, and the NYHL at NESC. The exceptions are the Mite 3 and 4 teams. Each of these Mite teams will be playing in only one league. This will allow an easier transition for many of these players to the rigors of the long hockey season, as well as providing them additional practice time and sessions to improve their individual skills and skating.
The board voted in an increase in membership fees from $1,200 to $1,350. This is our first fee increase in two years and is required to cover the increase in team fees in the leagues in which our teams participate. Members will be able to reduce their total fee by up to $200 by participating in our Annual Calendar Raffle during the year. Please note that members of the Mite 3 and 4 teams will pay a reduced fee of $950, to reflect their participation in only one league.
We are also anticipating our highly successful Mosquito program to begin in October this year. This will offer the benefit of additional skill time and 3 on 3 play for our Hockey Development players, as well as Mites.
Our successful Midget program is being offered again for our older players. Please continue to monitor the Website for additional information on this.
Please note that the Annual Triboro Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, October 4th at Marlborough Country Club. This is our organization’s primary fundraiser…and it is a lot of fun too! Please mark it down on your calendars!
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Keep your head up!!
